Meet Felix Eduardo Barradas Barrios, our new faculty addition to the festival
Born in Venezuela, Mr. Barradas studied music at the National System of Orchestras, at the Mozarteum Center in Venezuela, and at Duquesne University in The USA. He took Viola workshops with Hideko Kobayashi, Gerard Caussé, and Randolph Kelly with whom he performed as a soloist.
He also performed as a soloist with the symphony orchestras of his country, as well as at festivals such as SESC-Brazil, Pittsburgh-E.E.U.U., Sople-Poland, and Guama-Venezuela.
He was the first viola of the Carabobo-Venezuela Symphony Orchestra, and assistant to the first viola of the Aragua-Venezuela orchestra.
In 2006 in The USA, he performed with the Tulsa-Oklahoma Symphony, Erie Philarmonic, and Butler Symphony.
He was a member of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela from 2008 to 2017, with which he participated in recordings and international tours.
Mr. Barradas is currently a member of the Ponta Grossa Orchestra - Brazil.
